y’all know that i’m the queen of basics with a twist so trends aren’t something that i cover much on this platform. however, as a fashion lover there are quite a few trends that i’m super excited about for 2022. if you’re looking to grab some new pieces for your wardrobe, then consider the categories below.
Statement Denim
i’m obsessed with statement denim and even did an entire denim review over on my youtube channel. this year, we’re dipping our toe outside of the skinny jeans water and beginning to play with different cuts and styles of denim. i’m loving the ones that i’m wearing in this post from margiela, but am also obsessed with this super affordable color block pair from nasty gal.
Platforms
versace and valentino are the grand marshalls of the platform shoe parade. i love this trend because they’ve been around forever and depending on the silhouette aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. this means you can be on trend while also incorporating a long-lasting piece into your wardrobe.
plus, platforms aren’t just for sandals or pumps anymore. sneakers like this pair from converse and boots are also great options for this trend.
Feathers
i’ve never met a feather that i didn’t love. it’s one of my favorite ways to add pizazz to an outfit that’s otherwise basic. for example, my daily sleeper pajama set always looks stylish with very minimal effort.
this year, feathers are gonna be everywhere and can be styled casually or for date night.
Micro Handbags
the micro handbag trend became popular with the jacquemus “le chiquito” bag. she’s still that girl, but is now the queen of a much larger pack. i’m loving my new fendi micro bag that’s also a bag charm. brandon blackwood’s mini trunks are another great option, and they come in a dozen colors.
