i hurt my knee in water aerobics (of all places) a few years ago and have struggled with wearing flat shoes ever since. this means most dainty summer sandals cause me major grief, and after nursing my knee for the past month, i decided it was time for the inevitable: birkenstocks.

while birkenstocks made a comeback last season, i was afraid i couldn’t rock them without looking like a seventh grade art teacher. however, these bloggers inspired me to give them a try.
