A Few of My Favorite Things: 2023 Allstars

Beauty

Last year had lots of great makeup finds. I finally found a foundation that I love AND blushes that work well on deep skin tones. Plus, Danessa Myricks’ Blurring Balm has a fan for LIFE. I’ve even given it to my mom who then gave it to my aunt and grandmother. Trust me, it’s perfect for the no makeup makeup look.

Shoes

I’ve entered my comfort era. That means 2023 was all about finding comfortable shoes and leaving the rest behind. I was in foot-numbing pain last New York Fashion Week and knew it was time to get more principled about finding comfortable heels. Plus, I had to stretch my style acumen to include stylish ways to wear sneakers.

Handbags

I learned that my go-to handbag style is a bag with a top handle AND crossbody strap. I love the versatility and my least worn bags last year didn’t have both options. As a result, I sold my Hermes Picotin, Saint Laurent Kate and a couple other bags. I’m decluttering even more in January and will likely put a few more bags on Poshmark. In the meantime, I had a few bags that were in strict rotation.

Fragrances

I’m a fragrance fiend. Last year was definitely the year that I invested in some great ones and made it a point to luxuriate in each note. Overall, I would say that Maison Louis Marie’s Bois de Balincourt took first place.

Skincare

My skin is looking the best it’s been in some time. That’s definitely due to simplifying my routine and focusing on the ingredients that my skin loves. Overall, I’ve loved the Youth to the People face wash and Kiehl’s serums.
