here’s some tea. i recently learned that what really keeps you warm is not fabric, but air. that’s right, the very thing that we want to avoid in winter is what actually keeps us warm when it’s trapped inside our clothing.
protein fibers like silk, cashmere and wool warm to our body temperature. believe it or not silk is actually better than merino wool because it dries faster and allows the skin moisture that causes heat loss to evaporate more quickly.
mind blown.
for this reason, i highly recommend investing in quality silk pieces this fall. sweaters are great, especially when in natural fibers, but silk is a lux option that keeps you just as warm. check out some of my faves below!

a silk skirt with a matching shirt or sweater is a downright look. you heard it here first. in fact, i’m planning to mix this chartreuse skirt with a black sweater and black booties. it would look great with a wool wrap coat. check out some of my favorite silk skirts below.
Silk Pants
nope, silk pants aren’t just made for pajamas. they’re a vibe with a t-shirt, sweater or silk blouse. i love the idea of juxtaposing them with a pair of sneakers, t-shirt and blazer for fall.
