Five Books for a #HotNerdFall

  1. you are a badass at making money by jen sincero – telling you that this book changed my life is an understatement. jen’s writing is witty, in your face and super easy to follow.  she challenges the reader to adopt an abundance mindset and get rid of negative beliefs about earning money. she even tells her own story of going from broke to millions.
  2. my sister the serial killer by oyinkan braithwaite – chillay. this book is the shit. first, the writing is amazing. it’s told in a series of super short chapters about two sisters, one of whom is a serial killer. it’s a thriller, drama and comedy all at the same damn time.
  3. girl wash your face by rachel hollis – i’m that person who likes self-help books, but can’t stand self-help books. know what i mean? rachel found a way to encourage her readers without being corny. probably because she’s extremely transparent by telling her own story and how she rose above challenges like her brother’s suicide. read it for a quick dose of inspiration.
  4. what is not yours is not yours by helen oyeyemi – this book won’t leave me. i think about it so often until i’m planning to read it for a second time. it’s a story about an african couple and their challenges with conception. the plot twist will blow your mind.
  5. everything inside by edwidge danticat – salt by edwidge danticat is one of my favorite books of all time. the writer recently released everything inside, a book of short stories that i can’t wait to read. it’s definitely next on my list.

what about you? what’s on your reading list?
