for my first post of the year, i thought i’d share nine things i’m taking into 2019. i’ve heard so many people complain about last year, but honestly i don’t agree. even with the loss of a loved one, i still have lots to be grateful for.
like nettie and celie in the color purple “nothing but death” can keep me from my purpose this year. the nine areas below will help me achieve best life status. let’s start this thing off right…
my first goal of living more boldly is simple. i want to do more things that make me afraid. i heard someone say that if your dreams don’t scare you, then they’re not big enough.
next, sticking to a chores routine and developing a screen time curfew are connected because they both require a little more discipline. how many times have you picked up your phone and scrolled for 30 minutes without even realizing it? social media is a requirement for politics & fashion, but it’s also a really draining habit if i’m not careful. also, focusing on cleaning more often will help with my overall focus at home and well-being.
prioritizing family time, greater self-care and more date nights are my favorite intentions for 2019. i’ve been away from my hometown and most of my family for over a decade, and sometimes it feels like i’m on an island all alone. creating stronger bonds with my partner, family and myself will help ease this feeling, especially as i grow to understand that i’m never alone in a spiritual sense.
my last goals for 2019 are boss lady shit. it’s time that i get serious about my brand, creating content that i love and growing this platform to be the absolute best that it can be. doing that takes consistency and being more disciplined with my time. blocking off what i call “deep dive days” to tackle big projects will be key. plus, having a business plan will serve as a guide for the year.
