i’m always down for a good nude. pause. you know what i mean.
for so long, the range of available nude lipsticks didn’t actually look nude on deep brown complexions. brown skin femmes were stuck with colors that looked more like an ashy larry hue, than those that actually resembled our real life lip colors.
i’m loving the suede collection from nyx and soft spoken (above) is the perfect natural color. i blend it with a chestnut colored liner to deepen the tone. while i love this color, the consistency can leave your lips dry as a bale of hay. to combat this, i always lightly moisturize with lip balm before applying.
i’ve raved about this color from coloured raine before, and it’s definitely a must have. truffle raine (above) is my go to for the fall and winter. unlike nyx and mac’s old formula, it doesn’t leave your lips super dry and comes off easily.
