being a florida native, styling winter clothes has always been my struggle. don’t believe me? i’ve been running around dc in 20 degree weather looking utterly foolish in ankle pants, thick socks and sneakers until i get to work and change my shoes. i thought i was resigned to either freezing or looking like steve urkel until i had brunch with my big sister kdj. she was wearing l.l. bean’s classic duck boot and somehow made them look cute. the beans were out of my budget, but i ordered a similar pair from steve madden that i can’t wait to wear.
