mickalene thomas is baaaaad. a new york based artist who infuses rhinestones, acrylic and enamel in her artwork, much of her art is a visual playground. mickalene’s “better days” environment piece for art basel was a triumph of african textiles and 1970s swag. check out mickalene’s in the studio feature for artsy and the video below:
