the door by ava duvernay

ava duvernay is talented beyond words.  she was the first black woman to win the director of the year award at the sundance film festival for her film “middle of nowhere.” she partnered with design house miu miu to create this short film, entitled “the door,” featuring gabrielle union, alfre woodard, emayatzy corinealdi, adepero oduye and singer-songwriter goapele.  according to women’s wear daily, the film focuses on a door to symbolize gabrielle’s friends coming in and out to support her through a tough breakup.  she eventually overcomes her sadness, takes off her engagement ring, and sashay’s out the door wearing a fierce pair of gloves and midi-length leather pencil skirt.

beautiful sisters, bomb clothes, and a dope soundtrack?!?  i was literally on the edge of my seat.

*snaps all around*
