my cousin and i visited basignani winery this weekend and enjoyed a wine tasting and delicious homemade pizza. needless to say, i was feeling groovy by the time we reached the sweet wines, which are my favorite. i left with piccolo (merlot and cabernet blend) and vidal (sweet white). vidal is their best seller, and it flies off the shelf during the summer because it’s perfect for the heat. i can’t wait to go back to basignani and harvest grapes this fall.
