on politics & fashion, i explore style, beauty and well-being from a social justice lens. while my posts may not be about politics in the “traditional” sense, i recognize everything in the world is political. especially what we put on our bodies.
our beliefs show up in our style everyday. whether i’m rocking a dashiki or luxury handbag, you can conclude certain things about my worldview. pins are the latest trend that allow me to make a true fashion statement.
i love wearing my pins on my faux leather or jean jacket. they make a simple outfit look edgy without trying to hard. the best part is collecting pins and have conversations with folks about my faves.
it’s not hard to start your collection. you can use social media or etsy to find small businesses that sell pins that speak to your interests. amazon is also a good starting point for some basics.
mine are on this super old jacket topped off with a simple white shirt and bandanna around my neck. i kept my bottom simple since there’s so much going on up top. these shorts are from zara and my favorite gucci mules round off the look.
oh and say hello to my new handbag. she’s been sold out in stores for months, but i found her on vestiare collective. stay tuned for a post on the reasons you should be shopping pre-owned.
